Meet the Team
We're a team of developers and educators building the IDE that teaches while you build. We believe AI coding tools should make you smarter, not just faster.
Devansh Ranjan
Co-Founder & CEO
Developer turned educator who saw the vibecoding problem firsthand. After watching junior developers ship code they couldn't explain, debug, or defend, Devansh set out to build an IDE that solves the root problem: AI tools that make you code faster should also make you understand what you're shipping.
Before Contral, Devansh worked across full-stack development, DevOps, and technical education. He built internal training programs for development teams and saw that the gap between "writing code" and "understanding code" was growing wider with every new AI tool release.
Contral is the product of that insight: a teaching layer embedded directly into the coding experience. Not a separate course, not a video series, not a sandbox — but real-time understanding while you build real software.
Our Mission
The Problem We Solve
AI coding tools like Cursor and Copilot help developers ship faster — but they don't teach anything. The result is vibecoding: developers who generate code they can't explain, debug, or defend. This creates a generation of copy-paste developers who fail in code reviews and technical interviews.
How We Fix It
Contral adds a teaching layer to the AI coding experience. Defense Mode challenges you to explain what the AI just wrote. Learn Mode offers structured curricula from zero to mastery. You get AI speed without sacrificing knowledge.
Built for Developers Who Want More
Whether you're a CS student supplementing your degree, a career switcher learning to code, or a junior developer leveling up — Contral is designed for people who refuse to be copy-paste developers.
We're based on a simple belief: the best time to learn is while you're building. Not before. Not after. During. That's why Contral is an IDE that teaches, not a course that pretends to be one.
