Subscriptions, upgrades & cancellation
Subscribe, upgrade, manage billing, cancel and request refunds for Contral plans bought on contral.ai.
This page covers monthly and annual Contral subscriptions bought on contral.ai: buying, upgrading, managing billing and cancelling. If you bought Contral on AppSumo, you don't have a subscription; see Upgrade or change your tier instead.
How to subscribe to a Contral plan#
- Open contral.ai/pricing.
- Choose Monthly or Annual billing. Annual costs less per month.
- Click the button on the plan you want (for example Upgrade to Pro). Sign in if you're asked.
- Pay in the secure checkout window. Payments are processed by Razorpay.
- Your plan activates as soon as the payment is confirmed. Check the badge on your dashboard.
Prices are shown in US dollars, or in Indian rupees if you're in India. For the Teams plan, click Contact Sales (or email team@contral.ai).
Note
Your plan changes only after the payment is confirmed. If you close the checkout window early, your account stays on its current plan.
Upgrading your Contral subscription#
Open Dashboard → Subscription (contral.ai/subscription). If you're on Pro, click Upgrade to Pro+; if you're on Pro+, click Upgrade to Teams. You keep your current plan until the payment for the new plan is confirmed.
AppSumo lifetime accounts can't buy a subscription. Checkout shows "Your account has an AppSumo lifetime license. Upgrade your tier from your AppSumo account instead."
Managing billing and payment history#
On Dashboard → Subscription:
- Manage Billing opens your subscription's billing page from our payment provider in a new tab.
- Payment History lists each payment with its date, amount and status.
- Next billing shows the date of your next charge.
If a renewal payment fails, Contral emails you. If the payment still can't be collected within 7 days, your account moves to the Free plan.
How to cancel your Contral subscription#
- Open Dashboard → Subscription (contral.ai/subscription).
- Click Cancel Subscription.
- Read the warning, then click Confirm Cancel. To back out, click Keep Plan.
Warning
Cancelling from the dashboard takes effect immediately. The dashboard warns: "Your subscription will be cancelled immediately and you will lose access to premium features." Your account moves to the Free plan right away and you won't be charged again.
If you also hold an AppSumo lifetime license on the same account, cancelling a subscription returns you to your AppSumo tier instead of the Free plan.
Refunds for Contral subscriptions#
Under Contral's Terms of Service, you can get a full refund within 7 days of purchase if you've used Contral for less than 3 hours in total. After 7 days, or after 3 hours of use, subscriptions aren't refundable, and partial refunds aren't given for unused months of an annual plan.
To request a refund, email contact@contral.ai with your account email and the reason. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
